Six youngsters have been charged following vandalism to shops in Cowdenbeath High Street.
Twelve windows were smashed, including several at the Royal Bank of Scotland and empty Woolworths building.
Cowdenbeath-based community officers carried out "extensive local enquiries" before charging the young people, who are all aged 12-14. They are now being dealt with by the youth justice system.
Community Inspector Ken Stickings said, "It is disappointing that the culprits are so young. I would urge parents to know what their children are doing when out and about during the school holidays."
Cowdenbeath Community Officer, PC Kevin Kinnell, added, "As demonstrated in this case we thoroughly investigate all reported crime and any new information received is rigorously followed up, which allowed us to detect crimes which occurred dating back to February of this year."
