THE players management and directors of Cowdenbeath this week thanked the fans for their backing in the successful play-off final with Cove Rangers

Director David Allan said: "A heartfelt thank-you from everyone at Central Park – players, staff, coaches and all the board members, goes to our supporters for the wonderful backing provided to the team.

"Thanks to you all, in particular all those loyal diehards who have kept the faith during another challenging season. Also we are extremely grateful to all the wellwishers and fans from all around the world who couldn’t be there on Saturday but sent us messages of support.

"That sentiment also applies to the many people in the game and the many clubs that sent us messages of support and congratulation. "Some real true grit as befits our mining heritage was demonstrated last Saturday – playing for the jersey as they say!"

The Club’s annual application for its Licence will be considered by the SFA Licensing Committee early next week – the club is seeking a renewal of its licence at bronze level.

Cowdenbeath FC as an integral part of the local community were very pleased to accommodate a bucket collection at the turnstiles last Saturday which raised some £557 for Cowdenbeath Gala Day & Civic Week from generous Cowdenbeath and Cove Rangers supporters.

The management team met with the squad on Tuesday to begin the process of resigning and releasing players.
