COWDENBEATH have a big task in front of them at Central Park tonight when they take on Ladbrokes League 2 leaders Montrose.

The Blue Brazil really need to win this one to mount the pressure on Berwick Rangers and Edinburgh City above them.

Cowden are 10 points behind these sides but victory over Montrose would cut the gap on City to seven and could do the same to Rangers if they lose their match with Stenhousemuir.

Cowdenbeath boss Gary Bollan is not really worried about what happens elsewhere, he just wants his team to continue their form which has seen eight points taken from six games.

He said: "Montrose are a very good side but we showed at Links Park when we drew with them that we could match them and that is our aim tonight.

"If we can show the same sort of quality about our build up play we showed on Saturday against Stenhousemuir we can get chances and in Jordyn Sheerin, we have someone who can pose opposition defences problems."

Central defender Bryan Gilfillan is a doubt with a calf injury but midfielders Blair Malcolm and Brandon Luke, subbed on Saturday with tired legs, will be fit to take their place, if called upon.

Left back Harvey Swann twice came close to scoring on Saturday with some fine runs up the win and the manager will be looking for more of that against Montrose in a game that has a 7.45pm start.
