COWDENBEATH FC'S much publicised financial situation got a boost before Saturday's game with Stenhousemuir when fans handed over a cheque for £10,000.

Members of the 100 Club and their guests assembled in the Lounge at Central Park to enjoy some pre-match refreshments - a good time was had by all and many thanks went from the board of directors to Scott Southgate for organising the event on behalf of the membership.

The event was rounded off by a donation being made to Cowdenbeath FC by the 100 Club.

A cheque for £10,000 was handed over to manager Gary Bollan to help support the finances of Cowdenbeath FC.

Said Scott: "This takes the total of donations made to the Club by the 100 Club in just a few short years to over £50,000 - a truly remarkable figure and effort which has been a vital cash lifeline to Cowdenbeath FC."

The club is very grateful for the support the 100 Club has given and finance director David Allan said: "The Board of Cowdenbeath FC wishes to put on record their deep gratitude to the 100 Club and all its members who so often go the extra mile for the club and so ably demonstrate the true dedication our fans have to our club".

Individual fans have been coming up with a number of ideas to boost the Club 135 initiative to give Cowden a more solid financial foundation.
