A REMINDER goes out to all that the public meeting called by Cowdenbeath FC takes place tonight, Thursday, at the Junction Bar at 7pm to discuss the way ahead for the club.

After an encouraging shareholders meeting on Tuesday the club's board urge as many fans and members of the local community as possible to turn out and hear about possible ways ahead. The message is: "Your input is vital".

The EGM of the club’s Shareholders held at Central Park on Monday night agreed an overarching Ordinary Resolution by a unanimous vote in favour by the Shareholders - ‘It was resolved that the current Directors of the company should continue to manage and maintain the club no matter its League status next season with the membership being committed to giving positive and practical backing plus support to the development and delivery of an ongoing action plan to take the club forward under the banner of ‘Honour the Past, Ensure a Future’.

Meanwhile director David Allan said: "The received club received on Monday an email which we believe speaks for itself.

Margaret Duff, whose dad James Chalmers, died on Sunday was a long time fan.

Said Margaret: "My dad, James Chalmers (Jimmy) was a life-long supporter of his beloved Cowden...as was his father before him.

"Unfortunately he passed away on the March 17, which was St Patrick’s Day. This would have been my mum’s 90th birthday...sadly mum passed six years ago to an extremely rare condition..SupraNuclearPalsy.

"My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers shortly after mum died. From their house in Old Perth Road you could hear the football and later the Stock Cars.

"Dad supported Cowdenbeath and stuck up for them even when they were good or bad!

"His youngest grandson Ewan took on that role when grandad became frail. Dad moved into Roselea Nursing Home three years ago and he could see a bit of his beloved Cowdenbeath from his room.

"Sadly his Alzheimers left him unable to talk and walk at the end...but during his final hours when we were with him on the day he died...Ewan opened his window and we could hear them scoring!!!

"I don’t know if he heard them but Ewan was giving him a running commentary.

"It’s a very sad time for us all....but I wanted to let the Club know the enjoyment he’s had over the years. Thanking you for giving my dad a fitting end".
