DUNFERMLINE and Cowdenbeath's Skills Development Scotland centres will be holding a drop-in service this week as part of Scottish Apprenticeships Week.

The Dunfermline centre on East Port will be open on Thursday afternoon between 12pm-5pm and Cowdenbeath's office, situated on the High Street, will be open on Friday between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

Anyone who goes along will be able to speak to a careers adviser about current or upcoming local apprenticeship opportunities as well as other types of employment opportunities. Specially-made packs offering advice on how to find employment and training will be available.

Douglas Chapman MP for Crossgates, Hill of Beath and Moss-side, said: "I would encourage anyone in Fife who would like to know more about local apprenticeships to drop in and speak to the careers advisers at Skills Development Scotland who will be more than happy to help.

"Their service is completely free and the advice and support they can provide in helping you find employment and develop your employability skills is second to none."

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Work Coach Sally Goudie said: “SDS’s apprenticeships events in our Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy centres this Thursday are being held as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week and to promote apprenticeship opportunities. Careers advisers will be there to help people find and apply for apprenticeships where they can work, earn and learn. We can share a lot of knowledge about local recruitment and opportunities.”
