A DISTURBANCE outside a charity shop triggered by a neighbour's dispute resulted in a Court appearance for Cowdenbeath woman Rebecca Neil this week.

Appearing for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Neil, 32, of Dalbeath Crescent, had earlier admitted that on August 28 last year, at the Marie Curie Charity shop in High Street, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm when she repeatedly shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence.

Depute Fiscal, Kyrsten Buist, said volunteers working in the charity shop saw Neil with another woman outside the shop and heard her directing abuse at one of them.

"She said next time you are in a dark alleyway, you are going to get murdered," she told the Court.

"They both continued to shout and swear for some time. Miss Neil went onto shout that is the f****** b**** from next door and that is her mother and was saying they were grassing b******s."

Solicitor, Gordon Martin, said the incident was against the background of a neighbourly dispute in which neighbours had been complaining about each other.

"Both police and the council are aware of the problem," he said.

"It is her wish at some stage to move away from these individuals with a view to having a more peaceful and less stressful life.

Sheriff Chris Shead described the incident as a "serious offence" and deferred sentencing for a period of six months for her to be of good behaviour.
