A COWDENBEATH man caught driving at more than twice the speed limit has been fined.
The incident resulted in Matthew Gowdy, 27, of Broad Street, appearing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on August 23 at Barham Road, Rosyth, he drove at a speed in excess of the 30mph limit, namely 75mph.
Depute fiscal, Jane Rennie, said the incident occurred at 5pm on a rural road after Gowdy had left an industrial estate.
Gowdy, who was representing himself, said: “It was just a stupid a decision that I made.”
He told the Court he was a furnisher restorer and needed his driving licence for his job.
Sheriff Craig McSherry fined Gowdy £500 and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.
