POLICE this morning confirmed that missing Cowdenbeath teenager, Carmen Buchan, has been traced safe and well.

The 15-year-old was found in the Quartermile area of Edinburgh 9.40 p.m. on Thursday after not being seen since Hogmanay.

The 15-year-old was due back at her home in Wardlaw Street, Cowdenbeath, for 11pm on Hogmanay, having been out with friends.

However, when she did not appear police were contacted and searches began in West Fife and Edinburgh.

Leads by yesterday indicated that Carmen might be in the Oxgangs area of the Capital and their quest to find her was maintained.

The 5ft 10ins tall girl of slim build, and long blonde hair, was located in the Quartermile area of Edinburgh after a search lasting several days.

Community Inspector Gavin Cameron, of Cowdenbeath Police, said: "Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance with this appeal".
