FOURTH year pupils from Beath joined others from Lochgelly and Inverkeithing High Schools in attending a Developing the Young Workforce (DYW)/Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) event at Fife College’s Halbeath Campus.

The event involved pupils taking part in interactive workshops with employers from a range of industries that gave the pupils a hands on experience of their given sector.

Employers attending the event included; Marine Harvest, Taylor Wimpey, The Purvis Group, Kettle Produce and Babcock.

Fife College staff also gave pupils an insight into Childcare qualifications and the virtual reality technology available to students at the college.

As well as the workshops, pupils also received talks from Skills Development Scotland (SDS) about how to progress through the Foundation Apprenticeship pathway.

Pupils will now be able consider Foundation Apprenticeships as one of their options in their subject choices as they move from S4 into S5.
