VERY recently Stuart Aldred, one of Beath's S6 pupils, was offered a place at Rochester University to study for his degree.
Stuart is the fourth pupil from Beath to successfully apply through Sutton Trust US to study in the USA and, given how competitive this whole process is, this is a remarkable achievement.
On Tuesday December 19 Stuart, accompanied by Neve Stewart from Glenrothes High School, spoke to S5 pupils from both schools about their journey since this time last year when they were part of a similar audience.
Trips to London, a Summer School at Yale University and a number of interviews, exams and tests followed before final decisions were made and Stuart and Neve spoke with passion and conviction about their experience.
Let’s hope a number of other young people are inspired by their story and have their applications lodged in mid-January.
