PEOPLE looking to do some re-stocking of their supplies of drink and food for the New Year festivities were left with a problem this morning.

While it was cold in the early morning there was no snow but the first flakes started to come down before 10am.

There on, for several hours, it came down heavily leaving pavements in Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and the surrounding villages treacherous and roads difficult.

The good news is that things are going to warm up from Saturday onwards.

Rain will wash the snow away and the temerpature is to go up to 7 degrees.
