STAFF at Cowdenbeath's Morrisons Superstore have been celebrating a brilliant year of fundraising for local good causes.

Their efforts have seen more than £17,000 realised through a variety of activities.

And the staff at the High Street store are looking forward to a very busy run-up to Christmas.

Said Morrisons Cowdenbeath's Community Champion Deborah Graham: "Its that time of year again and we're looking for our High Street store to "Make It" the best festive season yet for our customers.

"As well as great prices and extending our opening hours, our customers will be treated to some community entertainment with the Salvation Army and Cowdenbeath Community Choir dropping in. We will also have special guests Mickey, Minnie, Goofey and Donald Duck also making appearances in store on the run up to Christmas.

"In between Christmas and New Year, Fergusons's Highland Dancers and Kelty & Blairadam Pipe Band will also be entertaining our shoppers."

Added Deborah: "We are pleased to advise that this year we are a donation station for the Kingdom FM Toy Appeal. The box has been filling up and again its thanks to our customers/local community for their support.

"Anyone looking to make a donation, can pop the item in the large box situated at the exit doors of the store #community spirit".

Concluded Deborah: "Thanks to the support and generosity of our customers, we've had another great year in raising money for our community.

"Our total for this year stands at an amazing £17,695.36 for local groups, schools and charities. I am also pleased to advise that in addition the store has donated a further £2,500 in goods to support local causes.

"From all in store we would like to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas & Awe The Best for 2018."
