LOCAL businesses have been busy promoting the "Love Cowdenbeath Buy Local" brand this week.

Free bags have been provided for the town's residents and distributed within High Street businesses and within the Community Hub "What's Your Beath," where people are encouraged to go along and pick up a bag and see what else is going on in the town.

The Cowdenbeath Area manager, Kevin Sayer, said on Monday: "This is a small part of the continued support from Fife Council to local small business.

"Cowdenbeath has also seen the installation of free Wifi in the High Street where it encourages shoppers to log on and see the different business within the town.

"Cowdenbeath will also see a Christmas Market held on the High Street on Saturday November 11 from 10am to 4pm, many of the local businesses and crafters will be at the event where you can pick up a unique gift at a great price from local people".

The Christmas Market will be held on the Green Square and will be part of the attempts to make people think about shopping in Cowdenbeath.
