DRIVERS were injured in a car accident on the Cowdenbeath to Burntisland road on Thursday morning.

The accident happened on the A909, near the Mossmorran Petro-Chemical complex, at around 9.20am when two vehicles were involved in a collision following the accident which also involved another vehicle.

Police had to close the road for over two hours as they and the Fire Service, who released one of the drivers who was trapped in his car, attended the accident.

Two drivers required hospital treatment for minor injuries.

It is the latest accident on a stretch of road which sees a lot of traffic each day use it as a link with the M90 and also the coastal route.
