THIS week's Down Memory Lane pictures have been inspired by Gary Straiton, a train driver.

Gary, who is Perth based, would like our readers to give him some information on the photograph of the rail workers who worked in the Kelty area.

But we have also managed to put together some shots of Cowdenbeath station which cover many decades.

Said Gary: "I am a ScotRail Driver at Perth and one of my colleagues, Graeme Scott, has given me permission to try and find out about the characters featured in this picture.

"Graeme's grandad , Goods Guard Archie Irons (lower row, far right), was a Kelty based Guard for many years and we would be thrilled if any readers could put names to the other lads pictured.

"The date, I think, looks like early to mid 60’s. A time of Fife coalfields, Kelty marshalling yard, the Glenfarg line and “rolley up woodbines”…can anyone help?"

If you can assist Gary send your information to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk

The other pictures show the Cowden station in the days of steam and in 2012, when Cowdenbeath Rotary Club members were involved in one of their greening projects, and also in 2016 with it looking spic and span.

If you have any old photographs you would like to see in our feature send them to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take them to the Times Office, 17 Bank Street, Lochgelly, on a Monday or a Friday.
