COWDENBEATH Community Council is looking for nominations for their Young Citizen of the Year award.

The organisation would welcome nominations by the beginning of October.

Said council secretary Christine Gourlay: "Do you know of a young person (age up to 18) who lives in Cowdenbeath, Lumphinnans, Hill of Beath and Crossgates who works hard, and gives support or assistance in these local communities either to individuals or to groups whose efforts might otherwise be taken for granted.

"Or do you know of a young person who has made sacrifices in their young life and have brought honour and distinction to any of these communities as a result of their sacrifices.

"If you know of a young person , please send details of your nomination with a short description of the reason why you feel they are worthy of the Young Citizen of the Year award. Please remember to check that the person being nominated would be willing to accept the award should they be successful".

Nominations should be sent by Friday, October 6 2017 to Chairperson of the Community Council at 16 Arthur Place, Cowdenbeath. Or send an Email to cowdenbeath.comm.council@googlemail.com
