A COWDENBEATH man went on a rampage trying to break in to several cars on a residential street so he could ‘eat his pie’.

He now realised that this was not the right thing to do and he should not have been there.

Scott Wilson, 44, of Arthur Place, previously admitted that on September 27 he was found in a motor vehicle at Marshall Street, without lawful authority to be there so that, in all the circumstances, it may be reasonably inferred that you intended to commit theft there.

Depute fiscal, Azrah Yousaf, said that one witness became aware of a male outside at 6pm trying to open the doors of a black Ford Focus then went to try another vehicle.

A neighbour contacted the police and Wilson did manage to get in the unlocked door of a blue Picasso.

Police arrived and found Wilson still sitting in the car 20 minutes later clearly under the influence of drink.

Defence solicitor, Sarah Meehan, said her client had recently successfully completed a drug test order of two years but was in the midst of carrying that out when the offence occurred.

“It appears it has been successful bar this offence and Mr Wilson understands he had no right being there,” Ms Meehan said.

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed him on a restriction of liberty order for five months.
