FOR the first time the churches of Cowdenbeath are coming together for a special day of fun and fellowship.

The big day will be Saturday August 19 with the event being hosted in the grounds of Trinity Church, in Sinclair Drive.

A special working group has been putting together a programme for the day which is geared to engaging with people of all age groups and while the Trinity kirk, with its spacious grounds, is hosting things, the congregations of Beath and Cowdenbeath North and Cowdenbeath Baptist Churches are very much involved, as are The Salvation Army, in Stenhouse Street, and the CLOCK Street and Rail Pastors.

Said Trinity minister Gavin Boswell: “Everything will start at 11am on August 19 and we are hoping to see families and people of all age groups coming along.

“There will be a fun programme for the kids involving table games, outdoor activities such as rounders and also a special treasure hunt event for teams of all age groups with prizes.”

At around noon there will be a barbecue and refreshments available and an ice cream van will be there during the day.

Said Beath and Cowdenbeath North minister David Redmayne: “The churches in the town have got together before for ecumenical events but this is the first time we have organised a day with a sense of community fun and fellowship. We invite people to come and join us for a day of fun, activities and crafts (indoors) and games (outdoors).”

Gavin added: “All are welcome to this open day of community sharing.”
