A PARTY of 14 Beath High pupils ventured to Fort William to look around the competitors' village at the World Mountain Bike Course there.

After a long journey they were greeted by sunshine and blue skies.

The car park at the Nevis Range was filled with stalls and technical areas for the riders who would be charging down the hill the following day.

After a brief walkabout they all journeyed up on the Gondola and were rewarded with a bird’s eye view of most of the course.

Fort William’s track is long at 2.82km and there are many technical areas which was great to watch.

The only downfall was that there wasn’t enough time to enjoy all that was on offer…..maybe next year!
