THE Bowhill cemetery now has a special Memorial Garden.

Cardenden Community Development Forum, in conjunction with Fife Council Bearevement Service, have created a Memorial Wall and Garden in the Cemetery, as part of the village's five year Action Plan.

Bowhill Cemetery has been full for new burials for many years, and with no prospect of a new cemetery, which has led to local burials being carried out at Lochgelly and Kinglassie Cemeteries.

To overcome this, the Development Forum decided to create a Memorial Wall, where relatives could have plaques hung in memory of their loved ones. A Memorial Garden has also been created.

A bench was donated by the Corrie Centre Management Committee, and plants for the garden were donated by Dobbies Garden Centre, in Dunfermline.

Flower vases have also been promised by Stevenson, the local Funeral Directors in Cardenden.

Details on how to order plaques will be available locally, or from Fife Council Bearevement Service who will supply and erect them.

A Dedication Service is also being arranged.

A quite, peaceful corner in the cemetery has been created where relatives can sit and remember their loved ones.

Said David Taylor, chair of Cardenden Community Development Forum: "We are grateful to everyone who helped create the Memorial Wall and Garden, which will be appreciated by the whole community".
