THE Cowdenbeath scout group's initiative to develop a Beaver colony is bearing fruit, but they do need more girl recruits.

The 46th Fife (Cowdenbeath) Beavers Colony is looking to recruit girls as they now have 15 boys, but only three girls.

Graham Gilbert, the Group Scout Leader, said this week: "We have a good mix of girls in the Cub pack and Scout troop but few young girls in the Beavers.

"We recognise that the Rainbows and other youth organisations do an excellent job of looking after youngsters, however, we think the Beavers offers an equally wide range of activities that all youngsters will enjoy".

The Beavers meet every Monday 5.45 – 6.45 pm and start from the age of 6 – 8 years old. Boys of course will be very welcome as well !

If your child would like to join please give Graham Gilbert a ring on 07690 118900
