GREG Stewart's move to Aberdeen on loan has earned Cowdenbeath £3,000.

Ex-Cowden star Stewart has recently moved to Aberdeen on a season long loan deal from Birmingham City.

The 27 year-old front man, who scored 31 goals in 119 Cowdenbeath appearances, did not make a lot of appearances for City in the English Championship last term after his move from Dundee.

So the move to the Granite City is seen as a benefit for him and the Dons but at the same time sees the Blue Brazil earn cash for the club's four seasons developing his striking talent.

Said the club's financial director David Allan: "The cross border nature of this 'Gregxit' means that Cowden will now receive an additional Solidarity payment from the Dons of some £3000".
