A COWDENBEATH man who distributed indecent images of children attempted to meet a 14-year-old schoolgirl for sex.

Aidan Strawn, 23, of Factory Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court where he admitted a string of offences.

On various occasions between November 1 and 30, 2014, he sent written sexual communications to girl who was then aged 14.

He sent her a sexual image, requested naked images of her, attempted to make arrangements to meet her for sexual activity and sent her sexually explicit messages.

Strawn also admitted that between October 26 2014 and August 24 2015, at Glenfield Gardens, Cowdenbeath, he downloaded indecent images of children.

He further admitted that between April 6 and August 24 2015, he distributed or showed indecent images of children.

Depute fiscal, Ron Hay, said that in August 2015 police received intelligence about the uploading of an indecent image of a child.

Their inquiries led them to Strawn who agreed to police examining his laptop computer and mobile phone.

Officers found chat logs containing indecent images of children and he was detained.

A forensic examination of his devices later found more than 2,400 indecent images and 124 indecent videos of children.

He had also distributed 178 indecent images to others via chat logs.

The, depute, said they included “graphic systematic abuse of young children”.

The investigations also revealed his communications with the 14-year-old girl in which he asked to see her naked and said he wanted to meet her in Edinburgh.

He also asked if she would be willing to take part in “a threesome” with him and a nine-year-old child.

Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports, bail was continued and sentencing will take place on August 8.

Strawn was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
