WITH 2016/17 now behind them Cowdenbeath FC's board this week confirmed that club doctor Bob Brownlie has decided to hang up his stethoscope.

Bob has been a Cowden fan all his days and was a GP in High Valleyfield for 31 years before retiring from that role in 2014.

He was initially club doctor and a director at Central Park for 12 years between 1995 and 2007.

He then returned for a second stint as club doctor when the present board took charge in 2010.

Thus Bob maybe has the unique honour of being the only Club official to have been involved with two Cowden title wins – in 2006 and 2012.

Bob ‘Two Titles’ Brownlie certainly has a nice ring to it! said director David Allan: "Now although Bob is stepping down as our official club doctor, the board is pleased to advise that he has agreed to accept the post of Honorary Club Physician for Life at Cowdenbeath FC.

"Thus Bob will continue to keep an informal eye on the medical position at the Club and will be with us still in the boardroom home and away."

Bob said this week: "I am very honoured to be offered the position of Honorary Club Physician for Life and still be a part of the club I have supported for well over 50 years.

"I have made so many friends over the time I have been club doctor and would have found it very difficult indeed to lose the contact.

"I am happy to help in any way I can for the benefit of our great club".
