SNP candidate for the Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency at the forthcoming General Election, Roger Mullin, has released figures which show that he worked significantly harder than his predecessor in the Kirkcaldy & Cowdenbeath constituency.

The figures show that in all areas of Parliamentary work Mr Mullin, before the General Election was announced, contributed significantly more on behalf of his constituents than his predecessor did in his final five year term.

Mr Mullin spoke 405 times in 190 debates in two years compared with 152 spoken contributions in 16 debates by the former MP.

Additionally during his time as MP prior to the dissolution of Parliament Mr Mullin asked 111 Parliamentary Questions.

Mr Mullin also proposed 48 Early Day Motions (EDMs) and supported a further 577, which is in stark comparison with his predecessor who in five years proposed none and signed only two.

Welcoming the figures sourced from Hansard online, Roger Mullin said: ''I am very pleased that these figures demonstrate that during my time in Parliament there has been a significant improvement in the representation the constituents of Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath have seen.

"I hope that the people of the Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency agree these figures show that I have worked hard for them in Westminster.

"With the General Election now only four weeks away and the very real possibility of continued policies of harsh austerity being pursued by a strengthened Tory Government, Kirkcaldy & Cowdenbeath needs a visible and vocal MP that will stand up and speak up for them. If re-elected I will continue to work hard for my constituents and make sure their voices are heard".
