THE success of last year's Cowdenbeath Community Police Team's Formula 24 project, run in conjunction with BRAG'S highly successful venture, has seen a new group of youngsters involved over the past few weeks.
Community Constable Gary Chrystal told the Central Fife Crime Prevention and Community Safety Panel on Thursday that the success of the 2016 project had seen a great deal of enthusiasm go into this year's project.
Last autumn the project sponsored by the Community Police team saw the car created by the youngsters qualify for the national finals down south.
Said Gary: "We have six youngsters involved this time and they have been very busy over the past few weeks designing the bodywork and trying to make a very aerodynamic.
"They have been very enthusiastic and this has been backed by a business in Cardenden who is making the bodywork for us.
"Things are looking good and we hope that the car will be as speedy as last year's and qualify for the big events coming up."
