THE concert held on Saturday night to raise funds for the Haiti Help Nurses was a massive success.

Beath and Cowdenbeath North Church was packed to support the three nurses, from Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath and Kelty, who do amazing work on the Caribbean island helping provide medical care for orphans.

The 'house full' signs were up for an evening led by the Todd brothers and their cousin John Walkingshaw, and with them were the Forth Valley Nurses Choir, who were the unexpected gusts on the Michael McIntyre Christmas Show, led by Phil Todd.

There was a varied and enjoyable programme to suit all tastes.

The choir sang many well known songs including Wind Beneath My Wings, Over the Rainbow and From a Distance, which were greatly appreciated by the audience.

The Todd brothers, who hail from Glencraig, and were 'children of the manse' gave a superb performance in song and on different instruments during the evening.

Matt and Phil Todd both trained at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow and their talent shone through.

When they sang 'The Prayer', a song made famous by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dione, in both Italian and English, the atmosphere was 'electric'.

John accompanied many of the songs on the 'Whistle and the Box Drum'. His fiance Rachel also took part in a couple of the songs.

Nathan was the other member of the Todd family providing the base for some of the songs playing some accompaniment.

The evening ended with a standing ovation from a very appreciative audience who then went on to enjoy a lovely supper, courtesy of the wonderful team of the ladies of the church.

The final total raised from the concert was £1,330 which which the three nurses would wish to warmly thank all who bought tickets for the event or who donated in any way.
