A PERTH man who branded a knife in Cowdenbeath High Street has landed 90 hours of unpaid work when he was sentenced at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Police discovered a six inch blade on Andrew Gordon when a disturbance was reported there last November.
Gordon, 25, of Viewfield Place, Perth, previously admitted on November 18, 2016, at High Street, Cowdenbeath, and elsewhere, being in a public place, he did without reasonable excuse or lawful authority, have with him an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed, namely a knife.
Depute fiscal Alastair Shaw said: "Police attended the address because of reports of a disturbance there. They came across a male who appeared bloody. Gordon was searched and a six inch knife was discovered on him at around 9pm."
Sheriff Chris Shead said: "The Court normally takes a serious approach in such matters but because of the positive steps you have taken I'll order you to undertake a community payback order of 90 hours unpaid work as a direct alternative to a custodial sentence."
