POLICE Scotland can confirm that the 38-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman arrested and charged in connection with drug activity near Cowdenbeath appeared in Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday.

The pair were detained around 4.10pm on Thursday, February 9, after a vehicle was stopped at the junction of the A92 near to Cowdenbeath. They were subsequently charged.

Officers recovered a quantity of heroin with a potential value of over £3000.

Michelle Cord, 42, of Kirkcaldy; and James Murray, 38, of Clackmannanshire, appeared in private and were committed for further examination.

Detective Inspector Paul Dick of the Divisional Pro-Active Unit said; “This is a significant seizure of heroin that was destined for the streets of Fife and impacting on our local communities.

“This recovery demonstrates Police Scotland’s commitment to tackling serious and organised crime and to actively pursuing those involved in the supply of controlled drugs.”
