A MAN and woman have been arrested after police seized heroin worth over £3,000 in a drugs bust near Cowdenbeath. 

The pair were in a vehicle that was stopped by officers, at the junction of the A92 near to the town, around 4.10pm yesterday. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that a 38-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman had been arrested and charged with drugs offences.

They were due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court today (Friday).

Detective Inspector Paul Dick said: “This is a significant seizure of heroin that was destined for the streets of Fife and impacting on our local communities.

“This recovery demonstrates Police Scotland’s commitment to tackling serious and organised crime and to actively pursuing those involved in the supply of controlled drugs.”
