NO, it’s not some weird crossover film, just a chance meeting between a Harry Potter fan from Cowdenbeath and a wookie from Star Wars.

Little Cailen Shand, aged five, had a hairy encounter in the Kingsgate Centre in Dunfermline when he bumped into the galactic visitor, who was helping to publicise the Capital SciFiCon in Edinburgh.

The Cowden lad was in town to join the wizards and witches who were waving their wands as Waterstone's held a Harry Potter anniversary party on Saturday.

The store celebrated the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in style as more than 60 people turned out for an afternoon of fun and games.

Prizes were given to those in the best fancy dress and youngsters also faced the famous Sorting Hat which split them up into teams before tasking them with answering some tricky questions in a variety of quizzes.

Anne-Marie Connor, Dunfermline store manager, said: “It was really successful. Everyone enjoyed it and it was a chance for the kids to dress up and have fun.

"We’re definitely going to have another Harry Potter event in the summer!”
