MEMBERS of the Junior Club at Bowhill Centre provided the entertainment at Fernlea Care home, in Cardenden, as they brought a bit of Scottish culture to the residents there.
Fourteen members of the club learned Scottish songs and held practices at the Junior club in the run-up to Burns Day to prepare for their big performance. Dressed in Scottish attire the young folk performed Auld Lang Syne, Scotland the Brave, Loch Lomond and Donald where’s yer Troosers for the residents who had assembled in the Fernlea Lounge to enjoy the event.
The group were accompanied on the ukulele by group members Natasha and Maddison and on the drum by Morgan, who is a volunteer at the club.
Youth Worker Nicola Wilson said, “It was great to see the young folk entertaining the residents at Fernlea. “They had a great night at the same time as learning about Rabbie Burns. Thanks goes to Fernlea for giving us a time to bring the children in. The children are already planning songs for their next visit”.
