PUPILS at Cardenden Primary School were visited by author Linda Strachan for an event which was a highly successful venture.
Louise Husband, the school’s Primary 3 teacher, had arranged for Linda to give a presentation to the P1-3 pupils and then Linda visited the P3 class where she gave some hints and tips on how to become a better writer.
Linda’s presentation was very interesting and an extra visitor, Hamish McHaggis, ‘wowed’ the audience.
All the boys and girls loved seeing the main character from Linda’s books come alive! Susan Harper, headteacher, said, “A real author describing how she gets all her ideas down on paper allows our pupils to see the writing process in action.” All agreed it was an exciting day and many children have been inspired to write stories and improve them through the visit.
