SIX teenagers, who attend Bowhill Centre Youth Club, had the night of their young lives last Sunday at the MTV EMAs held at The SSE Hydro, in Glasgow.

The annual music extravaganza rolled into Glasgow last week culminating in the star studded show on Sunday night hosted by hip-hop queen Nicki Minaj with performances from Ariana Grande, U2, Ed Sheeran with Slash and Biffy Clyro, finishing the night with a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne (Global Icon Winner).

The six youngsters, Chloe Saunders, Stephanie Cuthill, Morgan Jarvis, Finley George, Amy Driske and Amanda Doran, have, for the last year or so, been running the monthly ‘Bowhill Bash’ discos for the primary school aged kids in Cardenden, with duties including DJ’ing, the tuck shop, entertainment and ‘policing’ the event.

The six have been a credit to the Youth Club and this was their reward for all their hard work.

Youth Workers Craig Christie and Alan Johnston accompanied the young people on the Sunday night and Alan commented, “We had tried every route possible to try and get the tickets, MTV Ticket Ballots, Facebook, Twitter & various Partner Organisations but had heard nothing.

“We had given up all hope but out of nowhere MTV actually got back in touch with me when they heard about all the hard work the youngsters had been doing.

“After a short chat about the Youth Club they said they would get back to me. True to their word they did and they provided us with eight complimentary tickets for the event.

“The six of them are a credit to Cardenden and to themselves and all their hard work at the Bowhill Bashes has paid off for them.”
