POLICE are continuing their investigations into the break-in to the baker’s shop in Cardenden which saw charity money stolen and they would welcome assistance from the public.
The raid took place last week when £200 of charity cash was taken along with cash from employees’ lockers at the Bayne’s shop in Bowhill.
There were collecting tins for the Poppy Appeal and CHAS, which were targeted by the intruders Local Community Investigation Unit Sergeant, Kenny Bow, stated, “This break-in occurred between the shop closing at 5:30pm on the Tuesday evening and when it was discovered by a delivery driver on the Wednesday morning.
“For obvious reasons we do not want to disclose how entry was effected but are able to say that a quantity of cash was removed from the shop. Some of this money was held within charity tins and where charities will now also suffer financially as a result. I am appealing to local residents of Cardenden who may have knowledge of this crime to contact Police Scotland in confidence”.
Police are appealing anyone with information to contact them on 101.
