THE weather gods shone on the Cardenden Village Fair Committee on Sunday with beautiful conditions for the 2014 event.

Wallsgreen Park was the place to be with the sun high in the sky and a whole host of activities going on to entertain all sections of the family.

The park was a mecca for people of all ages and children found the pony rides and birds of prey a strong attraction while the army group were also popular people showing how casualities are catered for.

Local police officers were at Wallsgreen and they were popular as kids were given the chance to try out officers’ hats and find out about how they help the community while the fire service also attracted the crowds.

Charity cyclist extraordinaire, Andrew Greenhorn, from Lochgelly, was there with his tandem and people enjoyed going for a hurl in the park.

The Referendum debate is continuing to ebb and flow and both the Yes and No teams were at Wallsgreen offering information to people who wanted to find out more. There were other stalls which also proved big attractions.

It was a tremendous day and the organisers could not have asked for more in terms of the quality of the weather conditions.

Said the organising committee’s Willie Duncan, “It was a great day and what weather!”
