A LOCAL radio station has received a welcome financial boost after receiving funding from the latest Awards for All Scotland grants.

Kinglassie-based radio station K-Town FM, was the brainchild of a group of young people in 2007 who came together with the idea of launching a radio station for their area. After years of fundraising and hard work, they secured a five year FM community radio license to broadcast over an approximate radius of five miles to local towns and villages.

Now their hard work has been rewarded after receiving £9632 from Awards for All Scotland, part of the National Lottery funding.

The station’s aim is to put the money to good use by providing off and on air training for its volunteers.
