A FORMER Cardenden woman who stole almost £100,000 over a three year period to fund IVF treatment will be sentenced at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court next month.

Thirty seven year-old Debbie Stevenson, admitted last week at the Court before Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist, that she embezzled a total of £92,181.64 from packaging solutions firm Pitreavie Group, in Glenrothes, where she was a book-keeper, between August 2014 and January 2017.

The Court was told that Stevenson, formerly of Cardenden and who now lives in Tyne and Wear, had used the money to pay for costly fertility treatment.

However, the deception continued even after the arrival of twins in 2015.

An agent told the Court Stevenson was ashamed of how she had behaved and how the offending continued after her children were born.

Sheriff Gilchrist deferred sentence for three weeks for the preparation of reports and the suitability of accused's home in Tyne and Wear for a restriction of liberty order.
