A CARDENDEN hoax caller who repeatedly phoned the emergency services last year has appeared in court again.

Stephen Paterson, 40, of Kirkburn Drive, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for a review of his community payback order, with the sheriff told he had not been of good behaviour.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said a further offence had taken place involving the emergency services on March 31 but had not yet been recorded by her office.

Paterson previously admitted that on September 23, 2016, at an address in Ballingry, he did for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to a call handler, contact NHS 24 with a statement he knew to be false and stated he had taken an overdose.

Also, on March 24, 2017, at Kirkburn Drive, he repeatedly contacted the emergency services, claim he was suicidal and that he had taken a quantity of drugs, claims which he knew to be false.

Paterson committed the offence having been granted bail on October 21, 2016.

Defence solicitor Chris Sneddon said his client had made progress but realised the recent matter would cause some difficulty.

Sheriff Charles Macnair deferred sentencing for eight weeks to allow time for the fiscal to record the incident from March 31.
