A CARDENDEN woman who stole medication from a neighbour's house was this week ordered to be of good behaviour.

Laura Anderson, 43, of Carden Castle Park, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, on Wednesday, after previously admitting that on November 21, she stole prescribed medication from a property in her street which belonged to someone else.

Depute Fiscal, Claire Kennedy, said Anderson was found looking through drawers of the neighbour's house at around 9.15am and was asked to leave.

That evening, the householder was looking for his medication and was unable to find it. Police were called and they attended at Anderson's home and the medication was found in her kitchen cupboard.

Solicitor Mr Maguire said his client didn't have an explanation for her behaviour.

"She had consumed a quantity of alcohol and she attended at the home address of a neighbour who she knows who she has spoken to since and apologised," he explained.

"The medication, which was co-codemol, was on the coffee table in the living room and she removed it without the consent of the home owner. The majority of her offending relates to matters which have arisen after the consumption of alcohol."

Sheriff Craig McSherry deferred sentencing for six months for Anderson to be of good behaviour.
