A CARDENDEN man who assaulted his stepson and wife has been placed on a community payback order with 12 months supervision.

John Izatt's solicitor, James Moncrieff, said the situation has been a "consequence of family difficulties".

Izzat, 38, of Balgreggie Park, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

He previously admitted that between January 1, 2015 and May 6, 2017, both dates inclusive, at an address in Ballingry, he did assault his stepson, did seize him by the body, pull him by his clothing, repeatedly push him on the body, cause him to fall to the floor, there, on a number of occasions, kick him on the body and push him on the head and cause his spectacles to fall on the floor.

Between January 1, 2015 and May 6, 2017, both dates inclusive at an address in Ballingry, he did assault his stepson and did seize him by the body, turn him round and trike him on the head with your head to his injury.

Between January 1, 2015 and May 6, 2017, both dates inclusive at an address in Ballingry, he did assault his stepson and did seize him by the clothing and cause same to tear, push him against a door, there, hold a toy gun against his head and did strike him with a toy bullet.

Also, between January 1, 2015 and May 6, 2017, both dates inclusive at an address in Ballingry, he did assault his wife and did on various occasions punch her and push her on the body, seize her by the throat and hold her against the wall, there, and did strike her on the body, cause her to fall and strike her head on a flight of stairs, there, to her injury.

Between January 1, 2015 and May 6, 2017, both dates inclusive at an address in Ballingry, he did behave in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm in that he did on various occasions, shout, swear, act aggressively, struggle with his wife, and his two stepsons, whereby on one occasion his wife injured and on another occasion his stepson was injured.

Mr Moncrieff said: "His relationship with his partner has been turbulent.

"There have been complications with children who have behaviour issues, which have caused problems between the couple.

"He struggles with his stepson and his issues have not been between him and his partner but with him.

"Mr Izatt hasn't been staying with the family since.

"There hasn't been any further difficulties.

"This has been a consequence of family of difficulties."
