THE continued improvements to the path which links Cardenden and Benarty have seen a large amount of overgrown gorse removed.

A group of volunteers from Cardenden Walking Club and friends teamed up with the Forestry Commission to finish the repair of Pitcairn link path.

On Thursday the volunteers and their Commission allies set about clearing a huge amount of overgrown gorse and vegetation from the hill path that links to Torres Loan, which runs in to Lochore.

Said the Walking Club's Elaine Collins: "It saw a lot of hard work needed to remove the large quantities of gorse and other overgrown material but things went well.

"Both paths now look fabulous and weather was kind enough to us to allow a BBQ to finish the day and have a discussion about how things went."

The Walking Club members have spent a lot of time ensuring that the Pitcairn path is in excellent condition.
