AS the project moves into its third year the Cardenden based Tots2TeensTogs will in August mount a new initiative with the help of the Kirkcaldy Sainsbury's store.

Through Cardenden Community Development Forum T2TT only opened its doors at the Corrie Centre in June 2015 but in that time they have helped hundreds of families in Central Fife find the right outfits for their children at no cost.

Tots 2 Teens Togs’ is a project that seeks to recycle good quality, used children’s clothes and make them available for no charge to the community.

Volunteers, Vi Penman and Nicola Wilson, have been there from the start and are proud of the help that the project has given local families and they will be leading the new initiative in August.

Said Vi: "We will be at Sainsbury’s on Wednesday August 2 when we are hoping that when customers are purchasing school clothes for their children, that they may like to purchase an extra item of school clothing for T2TT and put it in the box at the front of the store.

"We will be there near the banner and would be happy to talk to people about the project.

"THERE WILL BE 25% OFF SCHOOL CLOTHES IN THE STORE THAT DAY."

Nicola added: "We would like to say a big thank-you to Sainsbury’s in Kirkcaldy for all the support it has given T2TT since we started.

"Mary and Heather from the shop have been so helpful. The donations we have received from them have made a big difference to the people who come along to use the project".

Vi looked back over the past 25 months: "It’s hard to believe that it is two years ago that we started our 'wee project'.

"Our aim was to create a huge extended family circle, passing on new or high quality second hand clothes for 'TOTS 2 TEENS TOGS' who needed them.

"We also had a vision to be able to offer a new school uniform to each child that came along".

T2TT's base is at the Corrie Centre, on Wednesdays 10am till 12 noon. Or follow them on face book: tots2teenstogs@outlook.com

Vi went on: "We also wanted to be able to go out on tour into the surrounding local communities so that everyone had the opportunity to use this service.

"We are proud to say that we have achieved our dream. We have so far visited Lochgelly – Kelty –Benarty – Crossgates and Kirkcaldy.

"We would like to say a huge thanks to all for the continual support. We are grateful and overwhelmed with all the kind clothing donations, whether it is items to pass on, washing powder, cash or spreading the word. We are truly speechless with the kindness shown.

"We are absolutely amazed, proud and overwhelmed at our first two years' achievements

"Of course we could not do this alone, we had great support and help along the way. So we would like to say “thank you!!” to all who have supported the project.

"If you have any donations please hand them into the Corrie Centre. We would be most grateful. I am sure we would rather be in a situation where families did not face the problems created by low pay, unemployment and the increasing failures of welfare reform. But you can help by donating to T2TT."
