A CARDENDEN man who ignored a road ban and drove dangerously through a built-up area has been jailed for six months.
Disqualified Terence McMillan, 27, of Cluny Park, has a history of road traffic offences.
He appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing after previously admitting his latest offences.
On March 12 on the B922 Cluny Road, the B981 Cluny to Cardenden road and Cluny Park, all Cardenden, he drove a car dangerously, drove at grossly excessive speeds and drove onto a footpath and grass area.
He also admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Defence solicitor Lynsay Magro said her client ran his own painting and decorating business.
Of the offences she said: “He accepts he has a difficulty with poor decision-making.”
Looking at the social work report, Sheriff Charles MacNair said: “He says he needed materials for a job so decided to drive there.”
Sheriff MacNair pointed out that McMillan been jailed before for dangerous driving and had escaped with a fine for another road traffic offence in 2015.
“You then drove again in 2017, not only while disqualified but dangerously through a built-up area,” he added.
He jailed McMillan for six months and banned him from driving for three years.
