THESE youngsters created a bit of history for the 4th Fife Cardenden Scouts being the first Beavers from the group to receive Chief Bronze awards.

Under the new badge system Jacob, Callum, Rayan, Ethan and Tom were the first from the Cardenden Beavers to be honoured in this way.

The Beavers section is flourishing, indeed as Michelle Gray, the 4th Fife Beaver leader

said: "We currently have 12 Beavers and a waiting list and we would like to open the section up to more youngsters but we need more adult support.

"We are recruiting someone for the position of Section Assistant, who are adult volunteers who assist the section leaders and assistant section leaders who deliver the programme to young people in Scouting."

Added Michelle: "Remember you do not have to be an adventurer like Bar Grylls to get involved in Scouting.

"Do you have first aid knowledge? Are you good with numbers? Are you handy in the kitchen or are you a DIY whizz?

"We all have useful skills and you can volunteer and help in many ways.

"It could be for work experience or to try something completely new or making new friends.

"As well as gaining externally recognised skills and having a brilliant time, Scouting also offers the chance to build on personal skills, like team work, confidence and leadership.

"We need your help".
