CARDENDEN Environment Group held a wonderful and very successful Daffodil Tea in Auchterderran Church Hall.

The Environment Group does a lot of work which improves the look of the ABCD villages conurbation and they need funds to make things happen and to raise almost £1,000 through the event was a big boost.

The Environment Group's Mary Murdoch said: "I think the Daffodil Tea was enjoyed by all and the Group would like to take the opportunity to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to make this event run smoothly with all the delicious home baking".

Dave's Diner donated the filled bridge rolls which went down very well and a big thank-you went to him and they had plenty of great raffle prize's donated also.

Added Mary: "Thanks goes to Ore Valley Housing Association, Rogersons, Morrison's Cowdenbeath, Lady Helen Nurseries, Paul Peacock Carpet store and many, many more who donated to the raffle, tombola, cake and candy and bottle bags.

"We raised a great sum of £990 and a very generous total of £210 was donated from Lee Rankin and Tracy by auctioning a signed Manchester United football top and giving the money to our group.

"This was a very nice afternoon and all money raised will go to the floral enhancements which will be placed around the village".
