SNP councillors for Kinglassie have been celebrating getting results for constituents. Councillors Julie Ford and Craig Walker recently went on a 'walkabout' of the village with local residents to see and hear of the problems they are experiencing on their own doorsteps.

Councillor Ford commented: "We saw problems with the roads on Mina Crescent and surrounding streets, and the residents appeared concerned by the deterioration.

"We took pictures of the defects, reported it to the officers, and were then absolutely delighted to see these roads being presented to the Glenrothes Area Committee in February, and for the committee to agree to commit £179k to upgrade these roads.

"The works are scheduled to commence in next month."

Councillor Walker added: "Along with the roads, we saw that the railings alongside the sheltered housing complex on Main Street, as well as the railings at the Cemetery, in a bad state of repair.

"The Council acted on these matters as soon as possible and the residents were delighted to see both sets of railings repaired and repainted."
