MEMBERS of Cardenden Local History Group visited the Scottish Parliament this week and toured the building learning about the short history of the design and uses.
The local group have been active with many projects examining various aspects local history in the Cardenden and Kinglassie area and giving talks to local groups and schools as well as hosting exhibitions.
Members of the group have also been enthusiastic in helping neighbouring communities with exhibitions such as Benarty History Group's commemoration of the closure of the Mary and Glencraig Collieries.
The group met up with Alex Rowley, MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, and discussed local and national issues.
Mr Rowley said: "I am always happy to arrange visits and tours for local groups and there is much to see in this very different in design building. It is well worth a day out to Edinburgh and all local groups are very welcome".
