A MAN who repeatedly breached bail orders banning him from entering a Cardenden street has been sent to prison.

Zak Paterson (26), of Castle Wynd, Kinghorn, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

He had previously admitted breaching bail conditions prohibiting him from entering Cardenden Road between January 21 and 22 2015, on March 23 2015 and on May 2 2015.

He also had earlier plead guilty to a charge that on October 16 2015 in Cardenden Road, he resisted, obstructed or hindered police officers in execution of their duty, struggled with police officers and refused to be handcuffed

Solicitor, Ralph McCran, said the offence in October took place after Paterson had split from his partner who he had been with for a long time.

"He returned to using heroin and continued to abuse heroin for about four months," he said.

"He is asking the Court to consider allowing him his liberty. He is now away from drugs and wants to try and do something about his drink problem."

Sheriff Charles Macnair said existing Community Payback Orders had been breached and were no longer viable.

"The time has come where there is no appropriate alternative but a custodial sentence," he added.

He sentenced Paterson to a total of 170 days imprisonment backdated to the January 6.
